Features! Features! and more Features!

Let me start by saying that every since I took Kelly Rea Roberts Flying Lessons e-course, and really starting to put what I learned to work...magical things have been happening!  I have had three featured mentions this week alone.  Shelly at The Underground Ferris Wheel featured my "The Life She Imagined" House here.  And I was featured in two Etsy Treasuries:  the first is WindySpringArt, and her Art of Inspiration Treasury is here.  And the second is from Lana of Simple Joys Paperie, and her Romance of the Sonnet Treasure is here.  I am so thrilled to be getting this kind of exposure...Thanks!!!!!

I have met so many online friends and met a fellow flyer, Jen, for lunch yesterday.  I brought Mary along and we had a great time...I'm sure we will be seeing much more of each other!  In fact we are thinking about taking a class together in San Jose...more about that later!

After hours of researching printers, ink and papers...I finally have made some prints of my mixed media art and they are listed on Etsy now.  These are high quality Art Prints o Luster paper...bright, distinct colors...really lovely.  Go on over and have a look!

Other than all this printing and testing, I haven't had a chance to do a thing in my Studio...tomorrow just may have to be an unplugged day, so I can buckle down and get some work done.

Wow! Things Are Hopping Around Here

Wow!  I am one lucky girl!!!  Everything is happening so fast, I think my head is spinning out of control...at least it really feels like it.

I listed my first two Mixed Media pieces (the House and the Birdie, shown previously) on Etsy, and both sold within an hour or two of listing!!!  I have had so much positive response to both peices, I am just floating!  I have a couple more in the works, so I better get busy and finish them.  I SOOOO love to do these, and with the feedback I've been getting, I think I've found my niche!

As I told you yesterday, my Studio was featured on the Crafty Storage Blog, and again, so many nice comments!

And, as if that wasn't enough to send me straight to the clouds, my Birdie Picture is featured on sweet Sherry's Studio Pashnada Blog!!!  She's written a wonderful post on Fear...check it out!

I have my two Mixed Media pieces ready to ship (well, almost)...just a little bubble wrap and slip into the boxes.  What do you think??

Monday, Monday...

Busy weekend...but so much fun!  Saturday, our Cabo Crew (Green Tangerine friends) went up to Laura's house in Grass Valley...OMG...it is really out in the boonies...but so beautiful!  I felt like I was on vacation somewhere up in the mountains.  I had my camera in my purse, and I can't believe I never took a picture!  Anyway, we sat out on her deck among the beautiful, tall pine trees and Laura had prepared us a wonderful lunch.  We had talked about doing a "project" of some sort...but we actually did what we always do...talk, talk and more talk!  I am so lucky to have such a wonderful group of friends...Thanks, CCs!!!!!!!

Sunday, my sister called and said she was coming up to Sacramento to bring some important mail to her son, Chris (who is busy studying for the Bar Exam next week), and suggested we all meet up for lunch.  We went downtown to Ernesto's for Mexican Food....YUM!!!  And it was just so nice to see everyone.  Oh yeah, the important papers were his entrance papers for the Bar!!  Three days of exams (can you imagine?) starting a week from tomorrow...please send him some good vibes!

Today, has been STUDIO DAY...finished a new one...let me know what you think??
Also spent a bunch of time looking into printing options, so I will be offering prints as well as originals on Etsy!

Fun Playdate!

I had a great day, yesterday, with Mary and Laura!  Mary, of Bee Altered, has been busy with her altered arts.  I snapped a few pics for you.  The first is an altered clock she made for her mother's upcoming birthday...

 Another Clock...

And a shadow box for her brother with the original receipt for his first car...a Mustang!
Mary is so talented, I am always in awe of her.  Be sure to visit Bee Altered on Etsy.

Another Hot Day in Sacramento!

Wow!  Another Hot One...somewhere in the 90's I guess...I know it's been hotter, but I just don't like being out in it!  Baxter's Papa has been working nights, so he's been home during the day..usually wakes up around 1-ish, then we actually have some time together in the afternoon and evening!  It's been nice.

We have also decided to get our back yard back together.  We had it landscaped when we first moved into this house 7 years ago...but somehow weeds have invaded and we've hardly gone out back it looked so awful!  Yesterday, we had someone come and clean out the spa and get it back to running nicely...spent a little time out there last evening, and wondered why we had let it go so long!  Today, we had a young man looking to make some extra $$$ come and pull weeds...he had the yard looking wonderful in just a few hours..again, why have we put this off??  Anyway, we are probably going to expand the patio area and do some re-landscaping...so I'm anxious to start getting ideas and figure out what we are going to do!

Great Studio Time today!  It's funny how when the ideas start rolling in the come in floods!  I have always had a thing about houses and birds...they seem to be in everything I do.  Oh, and any kind of vintage paper, music or dictionary or anything!  Love French Books, also!  So, here's what I finished today...what do you think??

I have two more in the works.  This one will be listed on Etsy in the next day or two.

Busy day tomorrow...spending some time with the every so talented Mary (check out her Etsy Shop) and then meeting up with some Green Tangerine friends for Happy Hour!

What's on My Table Today?

So, I've switched gears a little...per a request from a friend.  I've decided to work on some canvases...today I am preparing 4 backgrounds.  I'm having so much fun and getting so messy!  I'm going to try out a couple of Kelly Rae style backgrounds...collage  with paper, then start painting.  I have always loved her style!  So, here's a little peak of what I have going on...
Maybe I'll have something finished and can I post it tomorrow!

I've also been thinking about all the things I really need to do to really get official with this Business...must start a list...my mind is overwhelmed!!

It's great to have the support of my fellow flyers...thanks!!!

Hi Everybody!  I know I've been MIA for a little while...just so very busy.  I've been taking Kelly Rae Roberts e-course Flying Lessons...so great, but also quite overwhelming.  It's a class on tips and tricks for setting up your creative business...so awsome.  Kelly Rae is amazing and has completely shared all her knowledge that she has learned (some the hard way, I'm sure) to grow her business in just a few short years!!  While I've been starting very slow with ETSY and Craft Fairs, and still trying to find my niche...this is something I would LOVE to do in my Retirement...have a real Creative Business.  There I've actually said it...and put it in writing!  Now I'm committed!  Or, maybe I should be committed???

Anyway, on that same note, I have added some simple journals to my ETSY Shop...please take a look...you may find something you like!  I'm taking it one step at a time...my next venture will be to make a couple of premade Art Journals..little "junkie" journal...with a mish mash of "stuff".  And if you know me, you know that's what I do best...mix and match - colors, textures and everything but the kitchen sink!

I'll leave you with a picture of my baby with her baby on her 13th Birthday!

She's Gonna Be A Teenager!!

Wow!  Seems like just yesterday that I got the phone call on a Friday evening saying, "We're going to bed, Mom, everything's just fine...see I told you she wouldn't be a 4th of July Baby!"...then a second call not too much later"We're on the way to the hospital, we'll see you there!"Then early the next morning our Little Firecracker joined our world and made me the luckiest Grammy EVER!!!  And now, she's going to be a teenager!!!  Look out Jennie and Michael...here she comes!
She celebrated with friends by going to the midnight viewing of the Twilight movie, and her family Birthday Party is tomorrow.  Raegan, I'm so proud of you and I can't wait to see you tomorrow!

I've been busy in the Studio this week having fun and making these little journals...hope to get them listed on ETSY sometime over the weekend.
AND, I broke out the watercolors and I've been playing on vintage dictionary pages...loving this and anxious to see where this take me.
Busy weekend ahead...Raegan's Birthday, and a 4th of July block party...hope it's not too hot!  What are you doing to celebrate the 4th??
